THE VERY EXPLOSIVE JASON DRAKE COMES TO MMA-KO
MMA-KO: First off Jason it is Great to have you at MMA-KO.
MMA-KO: On Thursday, July 16 at Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino for the
Palace Fighting Championship you will be taking on Poppies Martinez. How
excited are you about this up and coming fight?
Jason Drake: Oh man a fight like this is a dream come true for me a win
here and I just beat the # 4 guy and a former champion so I definitely
feel like a virgin on prom night nervous, excited and praying to god I
don't blow my load too soon
MMA-KO: Now Jason you are a very well rounded fighter with awesome
skills now coming in to this fight with Poppies Martinez who also is
very well rounded and has allot of experience. What is your game plan
and how are you preparing for this up and coming fight?
Jason Drake: Don't get caught up in a sloppy slug fest because that's
his strength and to use my more technical striking to keep him away pick
my shots and hopefully get the KO/TKO look for subs where they present
themselves but I'm hoping this fight doesn't go to the ground I'm coming
to fight not to roll around on the ground with a dude for 3 rounds.
MMA-KO: How do you see this fight going with Poppies Martinez?
Jason Drake: I think it's gonna be quick but a war while it lasts one of
us is going to sleep and if i do what I'm supposed to it won't be me
MMA-KO: How is your training coming along for this fight?
Jason Drake: Really good I had a few injuries in the past month or so
but they're all cleared up now for the most part so I'm just training as
usual ..
MMA-KO: What do you think your advantages are going to be in this in
this very explosive fight with Poppies Martinez?
Jason Drake: Definitely my hand speed accuracy and my reach
MMA-KO: What is your mindset while approaching this fight?
Jason Drake: I'd have to say like a nympho at a porn convention
MMA-KO: How did you get into MMA?
Jason Drake: I got into a street fight with a drunk pro fighter while I
was in my hometown Santa Paula/Ventura Ca visiting my family and
friends. Well I whooped on him pretty good with Zero experience and his
manager told me that I should get into MMA and to tell you the truth I
didn't even now what it was at that time. I did some research saw the
UFC site and figured fuck it I could do that. So the first thing I did
when I got back up to Porterville was find a gym and the first one to
seem like they weren't gonna throw me into a fight in 3 weeks was Team
Rampage in Porterville so that's where I've been ever since and it was a
great decision..
MMA-KO: What is your favorite fighting style?
Jason Drake: Muay Thai and Gojo Ryu Karate
MMA-KO: What was the most powerful moment ever in a fight?
Jason Drake: Definitely my first win when the ref raised my hand
MMA-KO: Do you have any pre fight rituals?
Jason Drake: Yeah I don't take a shower for 3 days before the fight and
I usually puke right before the fight
MMA-KO: Tell me one thing about yourself that your fans wouldn’t
suspect?
Jason Drake: I like romantic comedies and watch the suite life of Zack
and Cody whenever I get a chance .
MMA-KO: What is the one thing you want people to know about Jason Drake?
Jason Drake: That I come to FIGHT and love my children more than
anything in the world Larryssa 10 Aryanna 5 and Trent 4 I do this in a
big part for them.
MMA-KO: Is there anyone you like to thank?
Jason Drake: Yeah my coach Mark Lawley for putting up with my dumb ass
my team for the same reason Richard Goodman and Christian Printup for
