CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH MISS XPLICIT

Miss Xplicit My husband introduced me to MMA. He had trained before I met him. The first fight I saw was UFC 54 where James Irvin ko’d Terry Martin with a knee to the face. I was hooked and just had to know more about the sport. I watched every UFC that I could get my hands on. With UFC 54 being "my first", I had a lot of catching up to do.

MMA KO Who gave you your first break?

Miss Xplicit Booyaa Fight Gear named me Ms. Booyaa 2006. They are a pleasure to work with and I credit the start of my MMA modeling career to the wonderful guys at Booyaa and King of the Cage.

MMA KO When did you get people approaching you to take pics for fight wear?

Miss Xplicit I started getting approached to model fight wear after I did a shoot on the beach for a contest. I posted the pictures on myspace and before I knew it, I was in contact with several different fight wear companies.

MMA KO Where did Miss Xplicit come from?

Miss Xplicit Miss Xplicit was a name given to me by a friend of mine last year. It totally describes my personality. Explicit meaning: fully and clearly expressed or demonstrated; leaving nothing merely implied. Ever since I was a child, I have always been very outspoken, which, at times, has gotten me into trouble. *grins* I am never afraid to speak my mind or to express how I feel. I am a very open and honest person.

MMA KO Have you ever fought or trained?
Miss Xplicit I have trained a little with my husband. He thinks that I need to have somewhere to train outside of the house because every time I put on my gloves, nothing and no one is safe from my punches. A dream of mine would be to train for a day with the best, UFC Heavyweight Champion, Randy Couture.

MMA KO How did you and you're husband meet?

Miss Xplicit My husband and I met while he was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. I had just moved to Colorado when we were introduced through a mutual friend. My husband had surgery right before we met and he lived on the third floor of the barracks. Not able to walk that much at the time, I would check in on him to help with his laundry, take out the trash and take him to pick up food. We spent a lot of time together getting to know each other and a few months later, we were the best of friends. We had been dating for a few months when I decided to move away from Colorado to be near my family. My husband was in the process of getting a medical discharge from the military and a month later, he packed up, drove all day and night and came to Florida to be with me. Our relationship got stronger and our love for each other continued to grow, so he proposed to me on the beach at sunset. I, of course, said yes and we married three months later in a beautiful wedding ceremony at our church. We have been very happily married for two years. My husband truly is the greatest blessing of my life.

MMA KO I see you have alot of fight wear on you're myspace, do they all sponsor you?

Miss Xplicit Most of the companies that are featured on my myspace either have sponsored me or currently sponsor me. I also post banners and links for companies that I have upcoming projects with or hope to work with in the future.

MMA KO Has any big organizations approach you to become a ring girl?

Miss Xplicit I have been contacted by a few big organizations to discuss being featured as a ring girl for their events. Keep an eye out…I may be rattling the cage at the next event you attend.

MMA KO What do you do during the day besides take pictures?

Miss Xplicit Most of my photo shoots are done on the weekends. Monday through Friday, I am the business office manager of a large home health agency. We provide nursing care and rehabilitation services to senior citizens needing assistance. My responsibilities include payroll, billing, accounting, ordering, and patient verification, just to name a few. Once the business day is over, I go home to be a loving wife to my husband.

MMA KO What is you're favorite thing to do?

Miss Xplicit My favorite thing to do is to live and love. Spending time with my family is a big priority of mine. I also love to travel and learn new things.

MMA KO What is your main short term and long term goals?

Miss Xplicit My short-term goal is to find a way to stay motivated with my fitness. My workout routine isn’t as intense as I would like for it to be. I like to walk on the beach when the weather permits and I have a small gym in my home. The problem with that is, my bed is a whole lot more comfortably then my ab lounge. My main long-term goal is adoption. My husband and I are looking into internationally adopting a child in the next couple of years.

MMA KO Where do you see yourself in another year from now?

Miss Xplicit A year older, haha, that’s the smart ass in me. Honestly, I don’t know what the future holds. God wants where I am in life right now and I know that He will lead me to where He wants me to be in a year from now.

MMA KO Tell me one thing about yourself that people wouldn't suspect ?

Miss Xplicit Okay, ready for this one? I raise and breed exotic reptiles. I currently have twenty-five reptiles. I breed two different types of geckos, Rhacodactylus ciliatus, also known as eyelash crested geckos, and Rhacodactylus auriculatus, also called gargoyle geckos. Eyelash crested geckos were thought to be extent until rediscovered in 1994. Both species are native to the southern end of New Caledonia, in which their habitats are threatened by deforestation on the island.

MMA KO What is the one thing you want people to know about Miss Xplicit?

Miss Xplicit My passion for doing the type of modeling that I do, is from my love of mixed martial arts. I hope to further my education of the sport and the foundation on which it was built. MMA is doing BIG things!

MMA KO Is there anyone you would like to thank?
