registered a brutal 4:59, first-round TKO (punches) over
Gina Carano before a raucous 13,524 at HP Pavilion
here Saturday on SHOWTIME.
For as long as it lasted, the Cyborg-Carano fight was as
exciting as it gets. By winning, Cyborg (8-1), of Curitiba,
Brazil, earned the first-ever Strikeforce Female 145-pound
Championship. Carano, of Las Vegas, fell to 7-1.

Well this is by far my favorite fight to pick. I know everyone

 Cage
Combat Fighting Championships had another great night of fights
in San Francisco with the close of "Rush". Only 3 fights out of
10 going to the score cards provided the spectators with a
"rush" of excitement. It capped off with the fight of the night,
provided by Jeremiah Metcalf, taking the unanimous decision over
Ky Hollenbeck. "It was a real war", said one happy fight fan.
Despite not being able to stream live on Sherdog, caused by
unforeseeable technical difficulties, the night was a success.

Heavyweight Lavar "Big" Johnson was shot multiple times late
Saturday night and is being treated at a Bakersfield CA
hospital. The incident occurred at a family reunion 4th of July
celebration According to Bakersfield.com. When police showed up
to the scene, five people were found with gunshot wounds and
four people were rushed to a local hospital with injuries while
the fifth, Anthony Mack Johnson was pronounced dead on the
scene. Bakersfield newspaper reported that Lavar Johnson has
serious gunshot wound to his abdomen. Lavar Johnson is coming
off an 18 sec Knock Out over Carl Seumanutafa at Strikeforce
Challengers event this past May. The condition of Lavar Johnson
is unknown at this time. MMA-KO will have more info on this
