At the Konocti Vista Resort & Casino this past Sunday,
May 31st, it was time to Put Up Or Shut Up, as the
Gladiator Challenge warriors took to the cage once
again. 17 bouts entertained the crowd, with
arm-wrenching submissions, jaw-cracking KO's, and
heart-pounding TKO's all being part of the experience
for fight fans.

THE BIG MAIN EVENT (By:Mark Brill)
This weekend May 23, 2009 is the first time in UFC
history that two undefeated fighters fight for a world
title.
Only boxing has had this done, and shows how these
fighters are becoming world-class athletes.
Looks like the old fighters time has come to a end
because of the talent that has evolved in the most
exciting sport.
Machida, Evans, this is going to be amazing, Machida is
actually the first karate fighter to actually put
everything together beautifully, Evans is your Roy Jones
JR. where seems he gets better with every fight.
I don’t see Evans loosing anytime soon, and Machida will
put on a fight but I don’t see him beating Evans right
now.
Serra and Hughes, wow, don’t know why this did this now,
but maybe cause of all the injuries and trying to find
the right time for this fight. Problem with Serra he
fights like Tyson or De la Hoya to where he fights one
time a year if that.
Hughes at least is trying to still fight consistent, but
age will show in this fight. Serra is a very good
fighter and in recent years only loss is to the rematch
of GSP.
I see Serra beating Hughes by TKO. I could be wrong, but
I don’t see Hughes winning anymore matches in the UFC..
Sherk and Edgar is interesting, I see Sherk winning this
fight, I still think he lost to Tyson Griffin.
but I will pick Sherk in this fight.
I would have liked to see more interesting fights on
this card especially in Vegas, but it is a young card
and should be a decent nights of fights. |
The upcoming Strikeforce card was already stacked,
now we are getting a bonus. Strikeforce has just added
Andre Arlovski vs. Bret Rodgers to the June 6th card.
The heavyweight fight, sponsored by Affliction, will
feature Arlovski, a top ten rated fighter against an
unbeaten Rodgers.

Pat Miletich, MMA legend, made his Showtime debut on
when he called the April 11, Strikeforce event alongside
Gus Johnson and Mauro Ranallo. Well he impressed
Showtime enough to add him as an expert analyst for
their upcoming challenger series. He will join Mauro
Ranallo and Stephen Quadros. When asked about his role
he replied, "I'm really excited about being able to
continue working with SHOWTIME on their Strikeforce
Challengers series. This series is extremely important
to the MMA world. I am especially honored to be a part

Hard Knocks is set for Friday, May 15 at the River
Cree and it will mark the 14th consecutive
sold-out show for the Maximum Fighting Championship one
