THIS SATURDAY, THERE
WILL BE A "DIRECT HIT" IN ELKO, NV

GC is proud to present "DIRECT HIT" this
Saturday, March 20th, which
will take place at Elko Indian Colony Gym in Elko, Nevada. The night
promises to be action-packed, as hungry, young fighters will lay it
all
on the line for the
entertainment of the fans. "DIRECT HIT" is designed
to showcase amateur fighters looking to garner experience, and will
feature a fight for the Gladiator Challenge Amateur Light
Heavyweight
belt, as champion Jimmy Centers will defend the belt against friend
and
training partner Justin Stayley. There will be one pro fight, and
the
rest will include all amateur fighters.
Doors open at 5 PM, and the fights will start at 7 PM. Tickets for
"Direct Hit" can be purchased at
http://www.virtualboxoffice.com/, or by
calling (888) 826-8858. All ages are welcome, and the fight card is
subject to change.
The main event will feature undefeated GC Amateur Light Heavyweight
Champion Jimmy Centers (4-0) defending his belt against Justin
Stayley
(2-2). In an interesting twist, Centers and Stayley are close
friends,
and even train together. In MMA today, this is a rare thing, as most
friends and training partners refuse to fight one another. But
that's
not the case with these two. Both are new to the MMA game, and are
looking to make some noise in the sport. Now they'll be battling for
the
belt, and with their boxing backgrounds, fans are likely to be
treated
to a massively entertaining bout.
Also showcased at "Direct Hit" will be Cameron Hooper (1-0). This
undefeated amateur holds three Nevada State wrestling championships,
and
is absolutely a star on the rise. Hooper will be facing Anthony
Rought
at "Direct Hit." Rought is a member of
Ken Shamrock's Lion's Den in
Reno, Nevada, and Hooper will have his hands full with his opponent.
But
with his wrestling pedigree, along with his excellent standup
skills, it
should be a great fight.
In addition, crowd-pleasing lightweights Keith Rodriguez (2-0) and
John
Baker (2-0) are scheduled to lock horns in an anticipated bout. Both
fighters are known street-fighters, and are sure to provide non-stop
action. "John has a bit of boxing background, but basically they're
both
just street-fighters. They're sure to throw down in a big way," said
matchmaker Harvey Lockwood.
Gladiator Challenge Owner/Promoter Tedd
Williams stated, "I can't wait
for the Elko fight fans to experience the GC brand of fight action
once
again. It's going to be a great night!"
