PURE COMBAT MMA PRESENTS
“HOME TURF”

Central Valley, California — (By Jerry Gonzalez) On Saturday, July
25, 2009, professional mixed martial arts is returning to the
"Visalia Convention Center" in Visalia, California as PureCombat
presents “Home Turf.” This exciting card includes an action-packed
lineup of bouts featuring UFC and Pride Veteran Gan “The Giant”
McGee battling it out in the main event with Strikeforce, EliteXC
and WEC veteran Anthony “The Atrain” Ruiz. Two co-main events will
feature local talent from the Central Valley in Steve “Dangerous”
Ramirez versus Darvin Wattree and Phil Perez versus Jesse Bowen. The
card will consist of 12 action-packed bouts which include the start
of an 8-man tournament that will continue over the next three
PureCombat events.
McGee (13-4) and 6’10” is coming off an impressive 2nd round TKO win
against veteran fighter Johnathan Ivey last September and is looking
forward to continuing his MMA comeback with an impressive win over
Ruiz. But wait just one minute; Ruiz (21-13) at 6’3” has faced off
and beat other giants before with Big Jimmy Ambriz, Brian Sesma and
Brad Imes. Expect blood-shed in this main event as these two
veterans slug it out and knock each other out!
In other action, many local fighters from the Central Valley in
California will be giving it their all in hopes of making a name for
themselves in front of their home crowds and in the MMA community.
Additionally PureCombat MMA promotions and the non-profit
organization, The United States Entertainment Force
www.theusef.org , will be
presenting a guitar that has been autographed by Forest Griffin,
Jason Von Flue, Josh “The Punk” Thomson, Paul “The Head Hunter”
Buentello, Josh Koshcheck, Jake Shields and country western singer
Tracy Lawrence. It will be presented to a wounded Iraqi Veteran.
Expect a great night of action packed fights. Tickets for “Home
Turf” are available at the Visalia Convention Center Box Office or

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the fights start at 7:00 p.m.
