What once was, now, is no more.
The PFC website is shut down, and we have
learned that any future fights at Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino will
no longer hold the PFC name. All indications point to a bad breakup.
PFC president Christian Printup still
holds all rights to the name and all contracts, so it is not
impossible that PFC will surface somewhere else. There is currently
no news of a different venue for PFC.
Our sources have told us that there is
currently negotiations between Tachi Palace and a few local
promotions to replace PFC at Tachi Palace. The frontrunners as far
as we know are; Cage Combat Fighting Championships (CCFC), and King
of the Cage (KOTC). No word on who is leading the way, as of yet.
Numerous other promotions have stepped up only to be turned away.
Both of these promotions would work,
although with CCFC gaining tremendous momentum with solid shows,
great matchmaking, and a huge local following, KOTC might be in for
a fight themselves.
PFC had 2 more scheduled fights at Tachi,
both have been taken off of Tachi's calendar of events. No word on
if those fights will happen, or what will become of the fighters who
are still under contracts.
PFC filled the void of WEC, when they left
for Las Vegas, after being bought by the UFC. MMA has been a
successful endevour for Tachi Palace for a long time and it only
seems fair to say they will be prudent in finding another promotion
to fill this opening.
Neither Tachi Palace or PFC had an
official comment at the time of posting.
We will keep you updated on the unfolding
events at the Palace, and the future of PFC. |
