Tony "Kryptonite" Lopez
and KOTC's event "Legacy"
By MMA-KO Writer Art Rodriguez
On
Friday March 26 at the Silver Legacy Casino, King of the Cage will
be throwing what promises to be a very exciting Mixed Martial Arts
event. Featuring Two championship fights, also five-time former
champion Jamie Jara taking on Tim Means in a middleweight bout.
Hungry Welterweight contenders Koffi Adzitso and Quinn Mulhern are
going to war for the currently vacant title. Heavyweight champion
Tony "Kryptonite" Lopez will attempt to defend his belt against a
dangerous opponent in Tony Johnson.
An experienced fighter, with 20 professional fights
under his belt, Tony Lopez has earned two titles over his career.
Mr. Lopez has finished 11 of his opponents, and defeated an
additional 8 via judges decision, while suffering only 2 losses
himself. He currently holds both the heavyweight and light
heavyweight title's for the King of the Cage organization, and
continues to express his ambition to compete at higher levels of the
sport, and fight the best opponents available.
"I was only 12 years old when I started taking Kung Fu classes"
Lopez explained in an interview. After that, he went on to study
Karate before becoming full time Mixed Martial Artist. Mr. Lopez
fights with a sort of modified karate style, shared by few other top
level fighters. Good at controlling the pace of a fight with a solid
yet elusive defense, and devastating counter striking ability. Mr.
Lopez does not like leaving his fate in the hands of judges, he's a
finishing fighter who is always looking for his opportunity to end
it. His most valuable strength has been his natural mental and
physical toughness. Discouragement and despair are not part of this
fighter's vocabulary. He fights with a unique style, which is often
difficult for his opponents to adjust to. Finding and exploiting the
weakest point in his opponents game, he tries to aggressively push
the fight in a direction where he will have an advantage.
Mr. Lopez understands that his choice of occupation is
driven by fans who want to see action in the cage. He has made it
clear, he is here to entertain us. "I just want to put on a good
show for all the fight fans out there" Said Lopez. "As long as I can
give the fans a good show, I'm cool with it" He told one
interviewer. Adding to the equation his talent, toughness, and
nickname like "Kryptonite", I'm afraid not even
Superman
is safe. Friday March 26 King of the Cage presents "Legacy". Come
have a great night at the fights in the Silver Legacy Casino in
Reno. Doors open at 6pm fights start at 7pm.
