MMA-KO Sits Down With Mike” The Animal” Cook
In A Exclusive Interview
MMA-KO: First off Mike it is awesome to have you at MMA-KO.
Mike “The Animal” Cook: Thanks for having me.
MMA-KO: On Friday, May 15, 2009 at the River Cree Resort in Edmonton
Alberta,
Canada you will be taking on former two-time NAIA Wrestling Champion and
WWE
Superstar Bobby Lashley. WOW this is going to be an awesome fight!!! How
excited
are you for this up and coming fight?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: I'm saving my excitement for after I win, but I
think this fight will bring bigger
thing to come in my future.
MMA-KO: Now you are coming of a very explosive win over Carter Williams
in Al
Joslin PureCombat promotion. Now you find your self-standing across the
cage
from Bobby Lashley in a gigantic fight. Mike you have all the experience
and
being trained by the legendary Frank Shamrock you couldn’t fill better
going into this fight. How do you see this fight going?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: Realistically I think that on the stand up
portion of my fight game will become overwhelming for him and he will be
forced to a tempt to take me down and keep me there, that is where he
will run into problems.
MMA-KO: Now besides your experience already in MMA, What do you think
your advantages are going to be in this fight?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: I have statistically been placing myself against
tougher competitors for a reason,
and that is to never allow myself an escape goat. I will win because I
perform well, and if I lose its the flip side of that answer.
MMA-KO: In this fight we see Bobby Lashley coming out fast to try to
take
control of this fight. Mike you have awesome hands and have great ground
skills. What is your game plan coming into this fight to stay in control
of this 6’3 270 pound monster?
Mike “The Animal” Cook:I will show him how most of my sparring partners
feel while training, and that's Oh shit.
MMA-KO: How is your training coming along for this fight?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: Its going well, I usually stay in good shape no
matter if I have a fight or not.
MMA-KO: What do you know about Bobby Lashley and what have you done in
your training to prepare for him?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: I know he is a good wrestler and have been
working on take down defense.
MMA-KO: What is your mindset while approaching this fight?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: Win
MMA-KO: How did you get the nickname the Animal?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: Took a look at a few of my fight pics and
thought that I looked like a uncaged animal.
MMA-KO: Tell me one thing about yourself that your fans wouldn’t
suspect?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: I grew up watching Star Trek
MMA-KO: Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
Mike “The Animal” Cook: Jake and Tim from Disgruntle Clothing .com,
Jimmey from Hwy 99 Tattoos
